COLD!
I woke up and it was 16 degrees out. It was amazing. I went and bought some cheap gloves and I don't know. Then I saw some frost on the cars outside and I just couldn't help but take some photos of the frost.

Mono
So pretty much the past few days have been miserable. Last Thursday I went to the ER to get tested for Mono. They said I had it but the test was negative due to it being so early in the sickness for a positive result. So as a result of this, I wasn't able to get an excuse from the doctors from class. I haven't been able to keep much down or put much in. I am tired and unable to sleep. Everything is just unpleasant for me except for hugs. I love love love hugs still.
But on the brightside, IT SNOWED! I love the snow, it made me very very happy to look out the window last night and see tiny flakes of snow drifting to the ground in such an elegant fashion, almost as if the ballet of gravity and water was choreographed to the music that was playing with in my heart. I just love snow =]

Engagement photos
My roommate from last semester got engaged! WOOT! Even more so he asked me to take his engagement photos! WOOT!
Other than that, with my one week of being back in Rexburg, I've done alot. Most of my classes are really easy and I have signed up for two theater clusters to make up a minor. So yeah. I don't know. This should be an amazing semester.

I miss skate shots
So I've been away from skating for so so so long. So when I went to Davis to skate today I brought my camera like I always do. I got some (in my opinion) some amazing photos. Problem with skating with a large group of people is the noise. You can't keep it on the down low with 8 people riding hard on cement. Great day though. Really good day

Make up post
So I have been home for two weeks now. In the two weeks I have recorded 3 new songs and started a new band, got a few photo jobs set up and I have also gone to two concerts. I have also acquired a xbox live account. I also got a new cat. Nothing else is really new but I am growing a beard over the break. Here are a few photos for you.

Blink 182
So right now I would like to talk about by far the largest influence on my music. The soul band behind me wanting to play music and to do it as a career. They have helped me through out my life ever since I first heard their single on 'Now 3' in which I would burn a hole through the cd due to listening to that song so much. I have been in love with them for 10 years now. They have been with me through every point of my life that I can truly say made me who I am. These three band members and friends have helped me form so many friendships. Most of my best friends relationships are based off this band. Without them I infact would probably be dead. They have saved my life with their whimsical, childish and oh so deep lyrics countless times. They can bring me to tears with every lyric that I hear. I am talking about a band consisting of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker known simply to their fans as Blink.
I can recall perfectly the first time I listened to them while sitting in my father's blue pick up truck in 1999 after purchasing 'Now 3'. As I heard the first lyrics of the song come blasting through the passenger side speakers I fell in love. "All the small thing, True care, truth brings." I would not understand the deeper meaning behind that song till I was older. I was 7 at the time, the same age as the band in fact. They had formed in my birth year. This song was stuck in my head every second of every day for the next 3 years, not being able to get a hold of any other music by them.
Then came 2003 when I was able to get their self titled album 'Blink 182' for christmas. This would become the most inspiring, important and listened to album of my life. As I heard the first song from the album, ' Feeling This', the lyrics "Fate fell short this time" stuck in my mind and I hold these lyrics to this day very very very close to my heart.
When I had collected all 6 of their albums, I met Carlos in my match class in 7th grade. I had been playing drums for almost a year at that time and he played guitar. Our common connection, Blink 182 as our favourite band. My friend Zach, who did not play an instrument at the time, I met in my PE and English class. Our common connection, Blink 182. Zach has remained my friend since then and our love for Blink has grown since that first meeting.
When Carlos and I started a band, we met up with another friend. His name was Quest and he loved Blink 182 with a passion. We started a band originally named Reckless Abandon, after one of our favourite songs by Blink 182. We decided to get another gutiarist. His name was Billy. I remember playing with him for the first time and jamming on 'Easy Target' and having a great time doing so.
As we grew older and the band broke up, it seemed like they would never come back together. Then Travis Barker got in a plane crash and everything seemed to come right back together. Blink is back. Blink will live on forever. This is a commemoration to the single greatest band on earth. These three musicians have influenced me so much and I can't get enough of their music. I will never forget that first time listening to them in the car or all the friends who I've made based on our love of them. I will always hold them high in my respect and hold every one of their songs close to my heart. One day I may be able to wear one of their lyrics on my heart, quite preferably "Fate fell short this time". The one lyric that has countlessly saved my life and is always fresh in my mind when ever something goes wrong. I love them and I hope you hold them in a high respect for all they have done for music and every one in my life. There will never be another band that can take that spot that Blink 182 has tattooed on my bruised heart.

End of classes
So today is my last day of any real classes. I am currently sitting in my Book of Mormon class waiting for it to be over so I can go back to Cassie's apartment. I can't wait to be home so I can grow out my beard, draw with Chase, jam with McKay and Will, sing to a blasting car radio to the songs of Bowling For Soup and Cute Is What We Aim For and to have Mckinley wax my chest. When I get back I am also excited to see my mothers. Have some good conversations with everyone back home. I can't wait to get home but I don't want to leave the presence of Cassie. I will probably miss her more than any other thing about Rexburg. I will see you in two days!

One week
So its one more week till I leave Rexburg and get back to Woodland. I'm so stoked to see all my friends and family. Even more so, I'm excited to start recording my new EP, jamming with a few bands and trying to schedule some tour things or some shows for LWG pretty soon. I'm also considering getting some ink done while I'm down there. I know I'm going to get lectured on this by Caryn and my mother but oh well.
In other news I received word that I would be accepted into the LA school of recording arts but the problem is that I am only 17 and they won't take people under 18 so thats out the door for now. I will wait another year I guess.
I also have set another goal for this break, to try to get some muscle on my tummy! Just thought all of you would like to know that.

Professional musician?
I thought you would be interested in hearing that I have applied to be registered in the Itunes store which means that I get paid royalties on every track of mine that gets sold. I'm not sure the percentage of what is mine when the track is purchased but nevertheless I would be a paid musician. I will find out if I am approved or not either via e-mail or a letter in the mail. If I am approved, I will sign a contract with them about sales and all that crap.

Ep announcement
So after being at college for about three months, I've been working on some new material and ironing out some ideas about new music. So over the seven week break in California, I will be working on a new EP that will probably be done by September. The EP is going to be titled "Songs From The Macbook' which posses the basic concept that all of the songs that are on that EP will be recorded straight from my Macbook. All guitars are plugged straight into my computer or recorded through my onboard mic. There will be some guest performing from my friends Zach Bruno, WIll Devine and McKay Curteman, each of whom are some of my best friends and talented musicians and I will be also working with their bands very closely and I will be announcing my contributions with them as they come. I am to be back in less than two weeks and I hope all of you are enjoying your summer. I love you and care for each and every one of you and pray that you will remember to support your local music store and indie record store.

So Cassie and I are going strong and everything is alright with that department and I feel amazing. Hope to see all of you soon.

Yellowstone
So we had a four-day weekend last week. I'm so bored in class so I thought I might sit back and remember Friday and tell you about it. So on friday we went to Yellowstone. It was Cassie, her two roommates Rose and Grace and me. All jammed in Rose's little car with Cassie and I sharing the backseat and blasting disney songs. It was quite interesting. It was a very boring drive and Cassie even fell asleep. It was raining on and off, very hard and there was lighting and it wasn't the most pleasant thing in the world. So when we arrived, we had been stuck in a small car for about 2 hours and one and a half of which, Cassie was sleeping and using my lap as a pillow. The price to get in was 25$ per car, which I have no money so I need to pay Rose back later. As we get in, we decide to go to old faithful and the bubbling mud pits. As we get to the mud pits we made a stop at some falls that were pretty but over all kind of boring. And on the way we saw some bison and a ranger dude. When we got to the mud, I was happy. Pretty bacteria. Need I say more? Then when we were done with that we decided to go to Ol' Faithful. It was quite a disappointment. Both times that we saw it go off, it went at like half the amount that It usually does. So that was very disappointing. Then onto more geysers. I think now I should mention none of us got much sleep so we were kind of exhausted. Cassie, when she gets tired, sometimes gets really hyper. Its insanely entertaining. Mix this with my excitement for colourful things and shooting water and Cassie's exhausted hyperness then you get the most annoying couple in yellowstone for a day. Even more so, we acted like 5 year-olds with the colourfulness. More annoying than those old asian couples who can't speak anything but korean. After walking around the geysers for about two hours we decided to go home. Then more sleep on our way back! That was pretty much Yellowstone, it wasn't that exciting. Haha

Not your typical cookie cut kid
So while at a church school, I have realized I am not the cookie cut mormon kid that seems to dwell here. Most of the people that I meet here have grown up in the church, know the scriptures, have served a mission or are dating a return missionary. I am a convert who has done drugs, involved himself in sexual acts, gotten so drunk he has fallen off his face, burnt down a park, been arrested several times, has a good knowledge of his right for they have been read to him so many times and have been to hardcore concerts. Most of the people I meet here cringe at the sound of cursing or screamo music (its sad not being able to listen to Dace Gavin Dace openly) and will openly tell me that it is "offensive to them". So pretty much, I am missing home more and more every day. Especially since I heard Polo got a cone put on his head because he keeps licking his paw for some reason and now, as consequence of the cone being on his head, can not open the door but instead just sits and whimpers because he can't get out.
In other news, I have gotten bored and started putting together a portfolio. So far it only has about 16 photos but I would like to get it up to 50 photos. But oh well. I have all summer to get that number up and I have alot of opportunities to do so.

Two days in a row
(old photo but I like it)
So I was reading through all my old blogs today and then I found that I used to write so much more on each post than I have been lately. So here is a reminiscent post.
5 songs I've been loving
1:No Cars Go- The Arcade Fire
2: Pretty much the entire Black Sheep Boy albums from Okkervil River
3: The Prize Figher- The Velvet Teens
4: Song For Clay- Bloc Party
5: Chia-Like, I Shall Grow- Say Anything
So I honestly don't have anything to report except for the fact that I am really busy and SUPPER excited to come home and see everyone. I am reminded of the album title "All of a Sudden, I miss everyone" by Explosions in the Sky. Also, my music is being used for a slide show in my Photography class! Woot!

Sailor soup
Well, since at college I have very little money to buy the food in which I would desire. I don't have everything anymore. Its not fun. Whats even worse is that I can not make my creation that has become known as 'Sailor Soup'. Here is a short bio for this creation of yummy-ness.
Origin: 186 Walnut st. Woodland, CA 95695 at about 5 PM during early December 2008.
History: Once while I was sick I had a large desire and burning in my stomach for vegetable soup. But Judy was not home to make it at the time so I had to attempt to make it. I started out with 2 cans of sliced tomatoes, 2 cubes of vegetable boyan with enough water to boil a chopped zucchini, half an onion, carrots and some other things which I can not remember. As it boiled, I added various pastas and seasonings. As it cooled down and was acceptable to eat, I did. It was orgasmically tasty.
I then started to make it with other ingredients but still revolved it around the onions, pasta and tomatoes. As it progressed, I started to make it later and later, even when it was about 11 PM I would start to make it for the drunken people in the house at the time. They loved it. As nights came and pass the demand for the soup that was more highly addicting than the drugs and alcohol which were passed around and consumed outside. One night the statement was made by Billy that "We are all like sailors, and you are the chef who just throws s*%t in a pot and makes it taste good. Dude, its like 'Sailor Soup'. DUDE! It is f*%&$#g Sailor Soup!" The name stayed.
Sailor soup is one of the most coveted things to ever go into the house. When finished, the pot is dry with in 10 minutes after the announcement. But as I left for college, so did the knowledge of how to make the soup. As to this day, it has been over 2 months since anyone has made Sailor Soup. I decided to try to create a new recipe for the food that is needed for Sailor Soup. But the necessary atmosphere is far from present. What else is need is as fallows.
1: Hookah
2: More than one musician partaking of the food
3: Conversation
4: Random guitar 'noodling'
5: Laughing
6: Middle of the night (the most important part to make the soup itself properly)
(optional)
Loud girls laughing
The new attempt at sailor soup has failed due to the lack of all but one need for the right environment to enjoy Sailor Soup. To properly make sailor soup you must be trained by a master 'Sailor Chef'. You must be willing to devote your life to know and hold the secrets of Sailor Soup. To know the knowledge is to be fully faithful to the soup and ingredients. I am, at the moment, the only person in this world who knows all the secrets of the soup. This knowledge was given to me through serious prayer and fasting for the knowledge for the worlds greatest soup. It has been given. Sailor Soup will be made again once I return home. Do not fret Billy. You will have your fix soon enough.
May god protect your souls after reading this. The fact I'm uttering these words through a blog may in fact curse the soup. I have not been commanded to tell any of the necessities for the soup. But nor have I been told not to. What I have given to you should be held as high as the words of the wisest man to ever walk this earth.

Random pictures for the lack of posts
I really haven't been posting any pictures that much lately or even taking that many so I thought I would have some fun today and take a picture of my window. I don't know why I like it but I do. I honestly need to do something a little more with my days. I think I may take up photography a little more or maybe start trying to draw. Does anyone have any suggestions?

No way, no how. Did I get a girlfriend now.
So lately I haven't been posting that many blogs nor have I been online lately souly to the fact that I have found a significant other. I have been over at her apartment nearly every free hour of the day. She cooks, and I do the dishes. Its awesome. But anyways, due to this, I have not had time to take may photos sadly so, needless to say I am behind in my photography class. Not far far behind but enough to scramble to put together my motion assignment. I have a few good shots and sadly, one I had to use that was old. Here is the old one that I love. I miss shooting shows =[

Awkward things in a singles ward and news
Well, as you all know I am only seventeen and I am in a singles ward in college. Anyone who has been to a singles ward may be able to tell you there awe some awkward things being in a singles ward. Being younger than everyone else in a singles ward. Here are a few things that I find awkward in a singles ward;
1: Being the youngest person in the ward and not even being old enough to be in elders quarm
2: Everyone else conversing over their mission experiences
3: People who are dating in with in the ward
4: sitting in the back and watching the guys try to flirt with the girls they are sitting next to
5: People giving each other back rubs during sacrament meeting.
As for the news goes, I have been asked to have one of my photos be made into an album cover! WOOT! I get paid for it and everything. Its pretty sweet, but more details on that to fallow.
So on Sunday I was alone and I was locked out so I had to climb through my bathroom window which I think was pretty funny. Then I proceeded to leave the apartment again and go take pictures at the construction site (don't tell anyone) and this is my favourite shot that I took.

Mario Kart
Woot, first Friday out of the apartment! Played some Mario Kart for about 4 HOURS! It was quite intense. I also tried to help someone learn how to take pictures. It was very funny.
Cayla didn't want me to take a photo of her. I took one anyways. And you know what? I LOVE IT!
